Feedback from Those I've Helped

Before working with Simone, our team was largely following the prescribed curriculum structure in a fairly rigid way. While lessons were sound, mathematics often felt quite dry and procedural, with limited flexibility in how concepts were introduced or explored. The teaching team had been looking for enrichment opportunities to extend mathematical thinking and engagement.

Since the PD with Simone, there has been a shift in both teacher practice and student engagement. Teachers feel more motivated and confident to introduce more fluid, engaging maths activities into their lessons. Many have experimented with using the tasks, stories, and alternative resources shared during the PD, and some have continued exploring and applying these ideas weeks later. Mathematics lessons now feel more dynamic, with greater emphasis on discussion, exploration, games, and conceptual understanding.

Working with Simone was easy and highly valuable. She adapted the PD to suit our team’s specific needs and context, making it immediately relevant and practical. Communication throughout the process was smooth and professional, and her deep knowledge and understanding of effective mathematics teaching was evident. I would highly recommend working with her to any team looking to strengthen and energise, or re-energise, their maths practice.

Simone had lots of useful strategies that I could take and use straight away. Also nice to know that some of the adaptations we were exploring are suitable for the scheme we are following eg. using games to cover the same step.
